Awareness from an organizational cultural perspective of Inspecting what we Expect—Measuring what we Manage and ensuring that Counted Counts. A healthy culture typically focuses on measurements, rewards, and how we hold people to account with the following five focus areas surrounding people, process, and behaviors - Policy, Incentives, Technology, Supervision, and Accountability.
Building relationships, friendships, and partnerships with many in the community, as well as elected officials, front-line cops/unions, and command staff are vitally important to a new & tenured executive leader to cultivate and sustain.
Leadership is about inspiring others, its about service to them, - empowering and trusting - devoid of ego, leading with humility, and continuous improvement, and delivering news and change at a rate people can absorb. Situational dependent leadership for those employees that might not always be willing but are capable and providing tools, and a roadmap with milestones for success. We can help build a roadmap, strategic plan or assist in team-building.
With over 26 years in law enforcement, l can assist in developing crime-reduction strategies, illustrate the value of leveraging technology, and show the value of providing key performance indicators (KPIs) for each rank with deliverables that strive to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (SMART). Goals shouldn't be check the box processes, but systems and standard operating procedures that are sustainable and infused into everything we do.
With over 26 years of experience policing in extremely complex law enforcement environments, Jason Potts combines that experience and expertise to deliver innovative and progressive solutions to clients - rooted in evidence-based decision-making. Much of my experience has been operational, from Patrol to Narcotics to Field Training to SWAT to Internal Affairs to leading an Operations and Investigations Bureau to now leading a 400+ department that has police officers, corrections officers, animal protection, and our hardworking/invaluable professional staff.
